Dancer’s Feet π£
A dancer’s feet are very important in the art of dance. They carry the weight of the whole body and help create balance, rhythm, and beautiful movements. Strong and flexible feet allow a dancer to perform jumps, turns, and fast steps gracefully. In classical ballet, dancers stand on their toes, which is called “en pointe.” This requires great strength and practice. In traditional Sri Lankan Kandyan dance and Kathak dance, the feet move powerfully with rhythmic steps. In Kathak, dancers wear ghungroo (ankle bells) that make musical sounds when their feet strike the floor. Dancers often practice for many hours, so their feet must be well cared for. They stretch, massage, and sometimes wrap their feet to prevent injuries. Though dancer’s feet may look delicate, they are very strong and trained through discipline and dedication.
